As we reach the end of another year and get ready to start a new one, our thoughts will be turning as always to making our new years resolutions! More often than, not I have a list as long as my arm, only to break most of them a few days into January. This year I have decided I will try to make better decisions and choices, rather than resolve to do a whole heap of things that require huge effort and dedication !! So do you like making resolutions or do you bother thinking about it at all?
Hope you all have a good day!
I don't bother as can never stick with them! Hope you had a great Xmas xx
ReplyDeleteI do make promises before every new year, but I only promise what I´ll DO and not what I shouldn´t do. Makes the promises a lot easier to keep! :-)
ReplyDeleteI make a new year's resolution every year and really try to fullfill it, sometimes it has really made a difference in my life - but now for two years in a row I have made a same promise and not succeeded.. to take better care of myself. So now instead of continueing to be dissapointed to myself I have thought of making the promise in stages... Take smaller steps towards my goal.
ReplyDeleteMy initial instinct was to make huge list of things to accomplish this year, but I like your idea better Anne!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!

What a great sentiment. I've got a couple of resolutions, I try to make little changes each year rather than making a big change which only lasts a month.

Thank you Anne.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how rested I feel already 24 hours away from the boys...although I obviously wouldn't want to be away too long!!
I don't make solid resolutions but I am definitely going to do something similar to yourself and make better choices. (All family advice welcome!)
I also want to slow down and savour life and moments more.
Much love
Great post.
ReplyDeleteHappy New year!

Happy New Year Anne. Love your post. I try not to make resolutions because I do break them shortly after I make them. This year I am going to try to manage my many hats better and enjoy every minute I can with my kids. They are growing up so fast.
ReplyDeleteI make several small ones that I usually break but keep revisiting and feeling guilty for not keeping them the entire year. It's total punishment! :-)

I like the quote in your post. I try to be gentler with myself than in the past when it comes to resolutions. I keep them small so they are not overwhelming. For example, last year I promised myself that I would try to paint for an hour a day. It worked. I painted much more than that. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI've listened to this a dozen or more times and still find it delightful and sooooo original in concept. We realize that we don't need to listen to outside authorities; we are not
ReplyDeleteguided by our internal authority. It the radio was the only one that used to deliver the
days news and weather updates.
